Entertainment
We were asked to read a section in our book Remix. This section is based around entertainment and what entertainment is and the different perspectives within it. The article we read was called Pearls before Breakfast: Joshua Bell on the Subway. The article is about a world renown violinist ( Joshua Bell) who plays his violin in the subway. He was placed in the subway in regular street clothes and nobody recognized who he was. It was not until six minutes after he started playing did someone stop to listen and enjoy the music. Thousands of people walked by him that day and only a few stopped to realize the creativity and talent that he had. People were busy and preoccupied with their daily routine, but it is still sad when a very famous musician plays in a busy subway and nobody knows or acknowledges the music. It makes you wonder what we consider entertainment these days and what grabs our attention.
